The purpose of the author to choose a mixed race couple is to promote racial harmony and that we should not look down on other races or despise them , or even be upset that our own race is marrying another race . Its not the skin colour that matters . When it comes to a lifetime commitment , its the heart that really matters and other aspects like race should not be a problem . If thats the case , then right now , probably , we Singaporeans would be confined and limited to make friends , as we can only make friends of our own race and that is really miserable .

The reason why the author concentrates on the bad traits of a person , is that , people are only remembered for their bad traits instead of good ones . Although , sometimes , people are remembered for their good traits , Mother Teresa as an example , majority of the people are remembered for their bad traits . Honestly, i believe that , this is all human nature . People only remember you for what you did wrong , rather than what you did right , and this is what i am trying to emphasis , and this is also why the author concentrates on the bad traits instead .

Yes , through this advertisement , it is effective to promote family values . It managed to have an impact on me . It teaches me to treasure my family members while their still with me and that , every single things they do , make a difference . When one day they are absent in our life , only then would we realise that those little things they do , can still be remembered , and mostly , those mistakes they make are what we remembered .

My favorite character is Belle from Beauty and the Beast . Belle is a strong, intelligent, spirited and independent young woman . She is also a matured thinking girl who looks beyond the surface and into the heart of someone . In other words , she is not a judgmental person . She does not judge people based on what she sees . Belle is a strong believer . Although she had to live with the Beast and leave her father , she knew that it was for the best and that she would be back with her father someday , which she did . Other than that , she always looks on the bright sight of life . Even though she was going to live with some fierce looking stranger , she did not think of the negative impacts . She thought positive and enjoyed her stay there . She accepted the beast for who he is and does not ask him or force him to change for her sake . That is one of the main reasons why i love Belle . Because of these character trait of hers , kind-hearted , loving , matured , non-judgmental , and optimistic , she got her happy ending in the end .

People say that I am actually a strong and independent matured girl living her life full of dreams and goals . In my opinion , i am the exact opposite of Belle sometimes , but most of the times I am just like Belle . I do not like to judge people from what I see or what i hear . I would choose to look into a person's heart before judging them . I am a strong believer . Honestly , I am . Although sometimes it seems to others that I am unable to hold on and I am going to break down , in my heart , i would force myself to hang in there and continue believing . I am a person who would accept someone for who that person is and would not force them to change , as i love everyone just the way they are .

Honestly , i feel that unseen poetry is hard to understand . So far , i have learnt the imaginative and figurative devices , sound devices and diction and sentence structures . I understand the terms , and i can extract them out from poetry , but i have a hard time giving my comment about it . However , i am getting the hang of it through frequent practice . For instance , when I talk to Hanisah , she would mention some literary device in my speaking . Unseen poetry , however , is very fun to read and to analyze .

So far , my group has done most of our props , some line rehearsel , and gone to find our costume . We did the backdrops , only 2 types so far . The sword for Tybalt , and basically , thats all . We have rehearsed our line so many times , especially the Romeo and Juliet scene , as we believe its important . We have only found Juliet , Nurse and the party guest's costumes .

The current situation , is that we are doing more props , but due to all our busy and tight schedule , we have decided to split up and do different things . Like if one day , only 5 people can make it to the meeting , thery will do what they can . The rest would meet up another day to do other stuffs . We are not focusing so much on our lines , other than the kissing scene , as it still needs improvement . We have asked the costume IC to find suitable costumes for the rest of the characters . Some of us would tag along to discuss and make the appropriate choice too . We would try and ask the one whose playing the piano , to rehearse at the house or even , the back of the hall , or music room , where there is a piano .

The acting has to have more emotions , especially the crucial parts like when Tybalt is arguing with Capulet and when Romeo meets Juliet . Basically , its everything that is important . During the dry run , we did not add in the dance part as we have not figured out the dance steps . We took a long time in trying to figure out the dance steps as we did not want to do a dance , similar to other groups . And therefore , now , we have figured out a simpler dance step that not only doesn't copy other groups , but its short and sweet too . However , we can definitely improve on our dance as well . Like , not to be shy with each other . We must open up a little for the 70% for End of year examinations . We need to work out more on our spacing , and intonation when we speak . We must also really understand the role that we are handling . This is because , when we understand our roles , we can speak and really be in their shoes . We would start talking and acting like them . The spacing as , we must make full use of the whole space given and ensure that eventhough there are characters at the back , it doesn't distract and make the audiences lose focus on the main characters .

In act 1 scene 1 , the three witches had decided to meet Macbeth after the battle that Macbeth went for . They had a prophecy for Macbeth . In act 1 scene 2 , it began with the captian who met with King Duncan after coming back from war . He told of the victory of Macbeth who had defeated Macdonwald . Then came a new enemy , the Norweigien King . Macbeth and the army fought twice as hard as the opponents were strong . Victory was by Macbeth . The Norwegien King then requested for treaty so that he could bury his men . He had to pay $10000 as a treaty . Basically Macbeth is a story that shows greed of power . The theme of this story is to me , is karma as Macbeth had killed King Duncan just to take over as king and he ended up getting murdured himself .

My favourite character is Lady Macbeth . Eventhough she is not the good person but instead she is bad , i still like her . This is because she has the ability to coerce Macbeth into killing King Duncan . She has the power to control her husband however she misused it . I only like her because of her ability .

From Macbeth , I learnt to let things take its natural course . If we force into things , the outcome might not be how we expected it to be . We must also not believe what strangers tell us just because they have 'powers' like having the ability to predict the future . This is because to me , no one knows what the future holds . Let the future be a surprise . Lastly , I learnt not to misuse the powers given to us .

In the previous Literature lesson , we recapped the summary of Macbeth , act 1 scene 2 . Firstly , King Duncan met up with the captian who came from the war . Next , they talked about the war and the bloody man . In the war , Macdonwald was defeated by Macbeth . Following that , they talked about the new enemy , which is the Norweigian King . And so the second war began between the new enemy . Macbeth then won the second and the captain was badly injured . In the end , the Norwegian King decided to have a treaty with the opposite party wherby he has to pay them $10 000 to bury his men . Not being able to bury his own men who fought hard for him is actually an act of dishonour .

Miss Malyanah had told us the whole story of Macbeth . Therefore I feel that respect is important in war . Eventhough in war your aim is to bring down the other party , after the war , you should allow the opposite pary to bury his own men . Another thing is , you should let nature take its own course . This is another part of the story which Miss Malyanah told us . No point forcing things into and end up doing the wrong things as good will beat evil . Evil never wins .

Has there ever been a time in your life when someone told you that something improbable would happen and it did ? Did the fact that the event was " predicted " cause you to behave differently that you would have otherwise and make it more likely for the event to occur ? Or did the event seem to occur without any assistance from you ?

It was like any ordinary day . I was walking along the void deck to walk back to my house from school . I was feeling real down that day . Practically because nothing was right . I messed up the whole day . So , as i was walking along the void decks , i bumped into a lady who was carrying groceries . It was by accident , as i tripped over a rock and bump into her . I gave her an apologetic face , as well as apologised . After that , i walked away . That was when she called me . I went to her . She said , " You're gonna get killed " . I gave her a question mark face and walked away . I did not believe her one bit however , i took precautions . I simply did not believe it as life and death lies in the hands of god only . Who else would know when you will die ? The whole day , i was cautious . After subsequent days , i forgot all about the lady and her words . Until one day , I was suppose to meet a friend and i was very late . I was walking towards Woodlands Mart and since the traffic light was far , i decided to jay walk . " Beep ! " exclaimed the horn of a car . At that instant , all i thought of was the lady . I was almost knocked down and could have been killed . However , it seemed to me that i was almost killed due to my carelessness and not because of what the lady said . Whatever the lady said did not have nay effect on me . Therefore , i feel that whatever people tell us , we should not be affected in anyway . As we do not know if we can trust that person .
